I am offering this group of 1978 Amana VIP Golf Tournament ephemera that consists of items listed below. They played golf at Finkbine Field Golf Course in Iowa City Iowa.This was a Pro/celebrity tournament that has names like Mickey Mantle, Ernie Banks, George Blanda, Matt Blair, Whitey Ford, Stan Musial and Charley Pride. That is just some of the names that played. These Icons' autographs represent an era that will never come this way again.
This is your chance to own a piece of Sports and Entertainment personalities history.
Photo 1 shows the complete collection that consists of:
the official cap that was worn by the pros & celebrities (photo 2)
The official tournament photo and course layout program that measures 11" X 14" (Photo 3)
The official Amana Refrigeration, Inc. Company newspaper consisting of the upcoming tournament and photos of the previous tournaments (photo 4)
The official VIP program that shows the Pros and celebrities that was in attendance for this tournament. (photos 5,6,7,8)
The official score keeping card for the tournament. (photo 9)
A Sports Illustrated magazine from 1975 that shows Lou Graham wearing the Amana emblem cap. (photo 10)
Photos 11 and 12 is the Reserved dinner placard for the Amateur Contestants that was used for obtaining the Celebrities autographs.
All of these items are the provenance to support the autographs that are on the placard. They were obtained by the previous owner of this material.
The signatures include:
Mickey Mantle, Stan Musial, Whitey Ford, George Blanda, Joe Garagiola, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Charlie Pride, George Lindsey and Woody Woodbury. The ball players are, all, Hall Of Famers.
These signatures will not come around again and these people will be the icons of the future whenever the Greats 0f sports and entertainment are mentioned.
By placing on eBay, there will be no real auction fees for the buyer if these were placed in a national auction plus I would have to wait several months to have it cataloged and finally auctioned off. I feel, this way we can save time and high auction fees.
