ARTIFACT:
This is a fabulous and huge Westerly, Rhode Island steam fire engine No. 1 parade ribbon from June 14, 1894. The ribbon is in a beautiful shade of scarlet with fantastic gold wire fringing at the bottom. A cream-colored flap at the top has a great sequined star and a bar at the top of the ribbon reads WESTERLY.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1894.
SIZE:
Approximately 10-3/8” length and 2-3/4” width.
CONSTRUCTION/MATERIALS:
Plated brass, brass, wire tassels, sequins, printed silk ribbon.
ATTACHMENT:
Horizontal safety-style pin.

8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The ribbon has light wear and minor discoloration on the cream-colored portion of the ribbon, with light tarnishing to the wire fringe.
