Description
This is a 1961 program between the Los Angeles Angels and the Cleveland Indians, played at Wrigley Field in Los Angeles.
The program is not scored, but the line-ups are written in.
Based on the line-ups the program is from the July 28, 1961 game. The Angels beat the Indians 8-5. The Angels were led by George Thomas, who had 2 hits and 4 RBI. Leon Wagner had 3 hits, while Lee Thomas and Billy Moran had 2 hits each. Joe Koppe, Ed Sadowski and Steve Bilko had 1 hit each. Jim Donahue was the Angel starter, but Tom Morgan got the Win in relief. Art Fowler earned a save.
John Romano and Don Dillard both homered for the Indians. Jim Piersall had 3 hits, while Tito Francona, Willie Kirkland and Bubba Phillips had 1 hit each. Barry Latman was the Indians starter and took the Loss.
The condition of this program is VG-EX. The front cover has nice color, with light wear. It appears that actor Charlie Ruggles autographed the front cover. The back cover is clean, with light wear. The program may have been folded vertically years ago. The spine is strong. Other than the line-ups written in, the insides are clean
. The program is complete and intact. I'm calling it VG-EX, but p
lease check the scans for yourself.
The Los Angeles Angels finished the 1961 season 70-91-1, 8th in the AL. The Indians went 78-83, and finished in 5th place.
Don't miss out on the excellent piece of MLB history, from baseball's Golden Age.
Payment
I would appreciate payment within three days of the end of the auction, but if additional time is needed, just let me know.
Shipping
Shipping and handling is .50. I will combine shipping for multiple purchases. If you win multiple items, please wait for me to provide you with an updated invoice reflecting your total purchases.
Why I don't offer "free" shipping.
We all know that there is no such thing as "free" shipping. The post office charges for every item they deliver. So the only way to offer "free" shipping is to build the shipping charge into the price of the item. However, often times people purchase multiple lots. By not building in the shipping charge into the price of each item, I am able to combine shipping charges, thereby saving you money. My shipping charges are very reasonable. With my safe and secure packaging, I often charge less than I spend on postage and packaging. I sincerely believe that by offering a low shipping charge along with combined shipping for multiple lots I am able to save you money in the long-run.
About Us
I am a collector just like you. I get frustrated with over-grading and people trying to profit from excessive shipping fees. I believe I am a conservative grader. I provide high quality scans and/or photos to give you the best view possible. I will disclose any defects to the best of my ability. However, if I happen to miss something, simply return the item within 30 days for a full refund, no questions asked.
