    ARTIFACT:
    This is an Engine No. 4 Portsmouth Fire Department annual parade ribbon from the 16th annual parade on September 18, 1902. The light green ribbon has a bar at top reading M. H. GOODRICH NO. 4 and two burnished metallic tassels hanging at bottom.
    VINTAGE:
    Circa 1902.
    SIZE:
    7-3/4” in height and 2-13/16” in width.
    CONSTRUCTION/MATERIALS:
    Gold-painted aluminum, celluloid, silk ribbon, wire tassels.
    ATTACHMENT:
    Horizontal safety-style pin.
    MARKINGS:
    PAT. OCT 18-92 and very last bit of maker’s label.
